About
1931 was an important year for the Anticoli family. It was on New Year’s Eve of that year when Antonio and Sarah opened their first establishment, “The Rendezvous” in Dayton, Ohio. This would become the foundation of what would be an 87-year run of continuous restaurant operations for 3 generations of family owners. After 20 years at this original spot on East Fifth Street in St Anne’s Hill (photo-above w/ Antonio behind the counter), the Anticoli family moved to Salem Avenue in North Dayton in 1951 and renamed the restaurant "Anticoli's". Expansion came in the early 90's with the opening of "La Piazza" on the square in downtown Troy, Ohio. Through the 90's and into the 2000s, the restaurants continued to move and expand until 2018 when “La Piazza” closed its doors after 26 years of service.
Since 2018, "La Piazza" has continued to produce its beloved House Dressing and Herb Butter in limited runs 3 to 4 times per year. "Anticoli Specialty Foods" expands the availability and reach of these special products year-round. House Dressing is now available, and Herb Butter will be added to the store soon.
With production headquartered in Troy, Ohio, and in keeping with its 94- year commitment to quality, "Anticoli Specialty Foods" produces handmade products in small batches with no additives.
